This existing house was built in the 1960s and lacked the period detailing of many of the other historic turn-of-the-20th Century houses in this waterfront neighborhood. F/S Architects has transformed the exterior and the interior into a shingle style house. The renovated facades and new additions create cross gables on the roof which increase the appearance of the roof slope's steepness. Additional detail was added with the replacement of all the trim and mouldings, along with the creation of an integral gutter system in the cornice. The windows have been replaced and a new porch added at the front door. All the painted shingles on the walls and asphalt shingles on the roof were replaced with natural cedar shingles which will be allowed to weather to a natural soft grey. The interior of the house has also been renovated with new period mouldings and panelling including a panelled Entry Hall and a sycamore panelled Den. We've added a new Master Bath and also completed the interior design. |
