Inspired by the work of Sir Edwin Lutyens, this rustic grey limestone house is located in the foothills of the Black Hills. The dramatic view of the landscape dominates the spaces on the south side of the house, and the view can be enjoyed in the double-high family room and on the many terraces. The exterior trim has accents of hand-molded brick and stained Douglas fir.
The house has a fairly open, multi-leveled, plan, which takes advantage of the sloping site and creates an informal, interconnected series of spaces. The interiors of the house will be warm and spare with natural fir and cherry trim and stone fireplaces.
